What is DNS?

The Domain Name System (DNS) is the phonebook of the Internet. Web Browser like Google Chore, internet Explorer interacts through IP (Internet Protocol) addresses. DNS translates domain names to IP addresses so browsers can load Internet resources. Every time you visit a website, your computer performs a DNS lookup for the website.

How to get free Google DNS?

You can simply search on google for Google DNS. Then click on the first link you see.
it will bring you to Google Public DNS Page. there you can find a Network configuration setting.

This is a Google Public DNS you can use:

8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

How to Configure Network settings and to use Google DNS?
  1. Press Windows Key + R then type Control Panel.
  2. Now click on Network and Internet option.
  3. Click on Network and Sharing Center.
  4. On the left-hand side click on Change adapter settings. It will popup a new window.
  5. Select the Internet your using and right-click on that. Now click on the Properties option.
  6. In the Properties window select the Networking tab and then select Internet Protocol Version 4 ( TCP / IPv4 ) and click on properties or double click on Internet Protocol Version 4 option.
  7. At the bottom of the IPv4 properties, you will see Use the following DNS server addresses. Click on that and type the google DNS there. In Preferred DNS server Use 8.8.8.8 and in Alternate DNS server use 8.8.4.4. Click on ok and restart your PC or laptop.
